Through our Dinghy and multihull Instructor Course, you will learn everything a competent Royal Yacht Association (RYA) Sailing Instructor requires. Upon successful completion of the training, you will be prepared and qualified to work as a club or professional Dinghy and Catamaran Instructor anywhere in the world.
The Dinghy Instructor Course is for perfect for all levels of sailors whether you’ve just dipped your toes in the world of sailing or are already a competent sailor. Regardless of your level, throughout the course you will develop your sailing ability to an instructor standard, learn the theory behind sailing, and build the teaching skills necessary to instruct future students.
The first two weeks of the course cover and recap the basics of dinghy and multihull sailing, including seamanship, how to use a spinnaker, and the theories behind dinghy sailing. You’ll be on the water very quickly, sailing downwind, with your spinnaker flying.
All RYA Dinghy Sailing modules get covered during the course, from Day Sailing to Performance Sailing.
This course is ideal if you are getting back into sailing, are a complete beginner, or want to refresh your skills
A successful outcome of this course will give you everything needed to work in the watersports industry as a Dinghy and Multihull (Catamaran) instructor.
Your dinghy training is conducted over a 6-day schedule between 10 am and 5 pm. You also have the option to participate in two weekly fitness training sessions starting at 8 am. You can enjoy circuit training, mountain biking, yoga, SUP, and swimming during these sessions.
Dinghy training takes place in two 3-hour slots; one before lunch and one afterwards. Each training day concludes with a debriefing session at 5 pm. On completion of the debrief each day, the equipment is available for you to use.
The stunning island of Lefkada and downtown Vassiliki are available to explore on Saturday, your day off from dinghy training. There are plenty of exciting things to do and see. Indeed, after sundown, the bars and restaurants of Vassiliki spring to life. Hopefully, you’ll join us at one of the legendary Club Vass and Wildwind BBQs and shows. Previous attendees have said you should not miss these!
Choose the Watersports Nomad accommodation option, located in the heart of Vassiliki. You are only a 10-minute walk from our Club Vass training centre, and close to local bars, shops, and restaurants.
Our training programmes have proved so popular that many Watersports Nomad students decide to spend the remainder of the season in Greece rather than return home.
Whether you extend your stay or not, you’ll have an excellent experience in a beautiful location.
We deliver our Dinghy Instructor courses from two locations; Club Vass and Wildwind, both situated in Vassiliki, Greece. You will not find better conditions to learn sailing skills anywhere in the world. You’ll quickly see your dinghy handling improving as you develop your skills and confidence on the water.
