Watersports Nomad’s RYA Windsurfing Instructor Course is our most popular windsurfing course. It consists of six weeks of training at the biggest windsurf centre in europe; Club Vass. You will learn everything you need to become an RYA Windsurfing Instructor. This course really can take you from beginner to instructor!

Who is the course for?

The six-week course is designed for aspiring windsurfers who have yet to gain the confidence to set off from the beach, tack upwind, gybe downwind and return to shore. If you are already competent in these skills and can; gybe, use a harness in strong winds and beach start, consider our Fast Track Windsurfing Instructor Course.

You will learn everything you need to become an RYA instructor. Your qualifications will include RYA First Aid and Powerboat Level 2. Top quality instruction, equipment, training facilities, and location mean that your skills will develop quickly. Indeed, you will likely be well above the standard required for the Instructor phase in Week 6.

This course contains everything required to qualify you to teach Windsurfing at any RYA centre worldwide.

Your Training Schedule

Training is six days per week, starting at 10 am and running to 5 pm with one hour for lunch. You also have the option of participating in two fitness sessions each week, including mountain biking, yoga, swimming, circuit training, and SUP. The training day concludes at 5 pm with a debriefing on the day’s events. After this, you can use the equipment alone or with fellow students until the sun goes down!

Saturday is your day off, and many students choose to explore the island of Lefkada or head into Vassaliki town. After dark, the town’s bars, cafes, and restaurants come alive, providing plenty of opportunities for socialising. Club Vass also put on regular BBQs, which have become legendary with students and instructors over the years. We hope you will enjoy them as much as we do.

Choose the Watersports Nomad accommodation option, located in the heart of Vassiliki. You are only a 10-minute walk from our Club Vass training centre, and close to local bars, shops, and restaurants.

Our training programmes have proved so popular that many Watersports Nomad students decide to spend the remainder of the season in Greece rather than return home.

I whole heartedly recommend the windsurf instructor course and absolutely loved my time in Vasiliki. The instructors were really focused on getting our windsurfing up to scratch. I not only went from quite a beginner windsurfer to intermediate going advanced, i also gained my power boat qualification which opened up a whole new world of opportunity. We were definitely taught by the best ! Vass is a social hub full of talented people who all have similar interests and are always keen to help each other. we all gained new life long friends and useful connections in the industry. On the couse, you get 1 day off a week in which we would explore the beautiful island and all its gorgeous sights. 6 weeks of my life that i shall never forget and cherish always!

Had an incredible time on the fast track windsurfing course! I had so much fun on and off the water. The instructors were great with helping me improve both my windsurfing and teaching skills, and the dinners and themed nights out were so fun and I met some great people! Probably the best summer of my life!! Coaches are lovely and scenery is beautiful. I did the fast track windsurfing instructor course as well as work experience after. A great holistic program for watersports instructor training and experiencing Greece - with everything provided from fancy group dinners, nights out, theme parties, and early morning fitness, you get to see everything from sunrise to sunset! In terms of watersports, you have 24/7 access to the kit and so can advance in the sport quickly and easily become the best instructor you can be! They will also set you up with work experience after your training so that you can dive head first into the industry - just an example of how helpful they are throughout the whole course.
